Ho-Chunk Bronson Koenig became the second Native American to play in a NCAA Championship game. Dee Ketchum of the Delaware Tribe played in the 1958 championship game against the Kansas Jayhawks.
Ho-Chunk Bronson Koenig and his teammates, the Wisconsin Badgers, surprised everyone by defeating the Kentucky Wildcats in the second Final Four game by a score of 71-64. This meant they advanced to the national championship game against Duke University. Unfortunately, the North Carolina team defeated the Badgers to become the NCAA Division 1 Basketball Tournament 2015 national champions.
