Prepare to Enter the Warmth of the Council Fire!

Series: Whats Up with ILM | Story 6

Some people think of fall days as lazy and sleepy since the air gets cooler and the sun doesn't shine as much. But our days couldn't be busier right now at Indian Life Ministries.

We are so excited to let you know about a couple of updates on our 365-day devotional.

The devotional will be called: Council Fire!

Stories shared around the fire are such a vital, entrenched part of our Indigenous culture. Stories are passed down around the fire for teaching, for enlightenment, for encouragement.

We want the Lord to use these devotionals to enlighten, warm, and purify His people.

Another major update: We have decided to break the devotional into three volumes: January to April, May to August, and September to December. So three books covering one theme!

That will make each volume of the book easier in size for our readers to enjoy and share. With a smaller book, our readers can even take it with them to read the truths of God's Word when waiting in line at the bank or doctor's office. (We have a devotional for every day, but they're so good, we know you'll want to read some of them again and again!). This will also make the book more convenient for those who want to buy extra copies to give as gifts or a ministry tool.

Please pray for our team as we work hard to get these volumes to the printer. Our goal is to launch the devotional at our annual banquet on October 21. Besides praying for our team, please pray for the printers and others who are helping us produce this!

We are so overwhelmed to realize that as far as we know, this is the FIRST EVER 365-day devotional to be written exclusively by Indigenous followers of Jesus! We are so excited to be part of publishing history!

The Lord wishes that no one would perish and that all people would come to a deep intimate relationship with Him. We on the ILM team are so honored and humbled to realize that He is inviting this ministry to come alongside what He is doing in and through this project. We are so thankful for those of you who have prayed and given so that this dream that we believe is from the Lord's heart is so near to coming true.

One of the things we firmly believe at ILM is that you never know where printed material will end up-and who will see it! The Holy Spirit can get our newspaper and books in the right places at the right time to minister to and reach the right people. He is always at work, and we are excited to see how He will use Council Fire to change lives!
