Intertribal Life Newspaper -

As we were driving through the Canadian Prairies, my husband picked up the Intertribal Life paper somewhere.

Today, I am resting with a cold and had time to read the paper. There are so many encouraging stories, and it's good to know what is available to the First Nations community.  Thanks to everyone who expresses themselves in writing; it is brave as it can feel vulnerable to do so.  It's so exciting to hear the depth of growth and repentance of individuals.

We quickly bonded with a group of Saulteaux people in Kamsack, SK and Cree in Maskwacis, AB where my Cree/Métis great grandmother was from. It made us want to leave Victoria, Vancouver Island, BC and move to the Prairies because the people there are receptive to the Bible and prayer. Here on the Island, Indian Shaker church and other ideas are creeping into the churches on reservations that were known to be evangelical, gospel-centered, reading-the-Bible-kind-of-places just a few years back. The wonderful testimonies in the paper make me realize how much backsliding and deception there is here. 

The paper also reminded me of the ministries and connections we have made in the past and can make in the future.
