Legislation will help build stronger, healthier first nations

OTTAWA, Ont.-Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Chief Perry Bellegarde welcomed the passing of two new pieces of federal legislation passed in the House of Commons in early summer. The Indigenous Languages Act, Bill C-91 and An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families, Bill C-92 received Royal Assent in the Senate on National Indigenous Peoples Day.
