Amazing Creator!

I often find it difficult to match my space travel with my daily life. I don’t travel as fast as people living on the equator; they ride the earth’s rotation at 1,000 miles an hour, but I still feel the spin sometimes. We orbit the sun every year at 67,000 miles an hour, covering 92,960,000 miles. Our Solar System is part of the Milky Way galaxy, a 100-billion-star city that rotates with other galaxies. Astronomers thought we traveled with 3,000 other galaxies in the Virgo Supercluster, but now they think Virgo is only an appendage of the Laniakea Supercluster.

Laniakea is a Hawaiian word meaning immeasurable heaven. The Laniakea Supercluster contains 100,000 galaxies; stretching over 520 million light years.1 A light year measures the distance light travels, in a vacuum, in one year. To make this distance a little more understandable, picture the distance light travels as it circles the earth. It goes around seven and one-half times in one second. My mind now comes to a standstill! I recommend you search on You Tube for stunning information about Laniakea.

Our planet is as awe-inspiring as the universe. Think about the earthly ingredients it takes to build a house, fix a meal, or hike a mountain trail. Such information fills libraries and computers. Technology is amazing in itself.

I remember when we had dial telephones. My husband, who is three months younger than me, remembers picking up the receiver and telling the operator which number to call. If she happened to be impatient that day, she told him to call later as they weren’t home. We aren’t THAT old; yet, time speeds along!

So I wonder: Why are we here? What is our purpose? Who is in charge? The Apostle Paul prayed for the church in Colossae that they would know the answers. He asked Creator God to fill them with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:9b). Then, He continued:

And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:10-14).

Now, I wonder what His heavenly realm looks like. And, what is the inheritance. Supercluster
